About 2020 and the Movies
Theaters are closed and we are shut up in our homes consuming films and bingeing on shows more than ever before.
SF IndieFest has never been just a “media provider.” We’ve always heavily valued bringing people together for shared experiences. So initially, pivoting to showing films online really threw us for a loop.
When IndieFest was started, the idea was to be the alternative to the multiplex. Now, while we wait for the Roxie and other theaters to reopen, we see ourselves in a similar situation, only now as the alternative to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.
We have responded to the lockdown by expanding instead of retreating. We have more new events planned than ever before. We hope you will come join us to enjoy these new festivals.
Turn away from the feed on the mainstream channels and take a look instead at the fine gems of moviemaking that we have discovered for you!
Over the next twelve months we plan to present:
18th Another Hole in the Head (Nov 29-Dec 13) Horror/Sci Fi/Genre
23rd SF Independent Film Festival (Jan 28-Feb 11) Indie Narrative/Doc/Animation
MegaCity Interplanetary Film Festival (March TBA) Science Fiction
Living Planet Film Festival (Apr 21-25) Environment/Wildlife/Adventure
Mr HoleHead’s Warped Dimension (May TBA) Genre Shorts
20th SF Documentary Festival (June 3-17)
